Unless $600 is a max/stretch I would add $250 and buy the recently discontinued Leica Trinovid ( not the new HD)

Check the on-site Cabela's bargain caves for a pre-HD set of Euro's/Meopta Meostars.

Theron Optics Questa. I prefer the 8x42 version for the wider field of view and better depth of field but they do make a 10x42 as well. With coupon it goes for $425 and has all of the bells and whistles... Field flattener elements in the eyepiece for true edge to edge sharpness. Wide field of view (8x does 425 feet at 1000 yards, the 10x sports a 341 foot field of view) Fully multicoated Dielectric prism coated ED (extra low dispersion)glass in the objectives It has become my "go to" binocular for just about anything. Here is a link to the review I posted of it last summer and the link to the product page. https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbth...rch/true/Theron_Questa_8x42#Post10354140http://theronoptics.com/QUESTA_HD-ED_BINOCULARS.html

This question keeps appearing and the answer remains the same. Forget about new and get a used set of Swarovski SLC or older Leica/Zeiss used binoculars and don't worry about warranty...

I've been around the block with a couple pair of Chinese manufactured binoculars (Zeiss Terra, Zen Ray ED2), and have had the luxury of owning alpha stuff. My conclusion remains the same: With Chinese stuff you can get fantastic glass usually coupled with so-so build quality, and sooner or later I've regretted the purchase. Alpha stuff is alpha stuff all the way around. Is it worth it? Only the buyer can answer that.
The near alpha stuff can be fantastic all the way around too, like Leupy's Gold Ring HD, Meopta HD, Pentax ED, Conquest HD.
In this case I'd probably take shrap's advice and buy used SLCneu, Zeiss FL, Meopta HD.
It is irrelevant what you think. What matters is the TRUTH.

For new in that price range, look for top-of-the-line Pentax or maybe even Nikon. CameralandNY should have some SHOT show demos/display items on sale now or very soon.

Agree with the used alphas but I found these really good for the money. They are the best quality of the mid ranged binocs I've tried. http://www.cameralandny.com/optics/minox.pl?page=minox_62049

I don't know about "Best". But bought these about 6 years ago. They were a lot less expensive then, but I've been real pleased. http://swfa.com/Pentax-8x43-DCF-SP-Binocular-P1935.aspxI know you said 10X, but I'd advise 8X unless going to a larger front objective.

Most people don't really want the truth.
They just want constant reassurance that what they believe is the truth.
