PH, it works, I did it with a Pecar 26mm scope with the Burris Pos-Align inserts. It is snug, but does work.
Another option if you have a variety of 1" rings around, you can check them if they will fit. I found a couple that would work with 26mm scope tubes - I guess they were sloppy 1" rings!
