Mother died last night. She had bone cancer, breast cancer and liver cancer. Two weeks ago I took her to get CT scan. Now she will be nothing but ashes. Amazing that in just two weeks she just stopped living. Don't take anything for granted. Enjoy the time you have. It won't last forever.

Know where you are at brother. Same thing happened to my father this last November. Less than 3 weeks from knowing about it, to death. That disease just crushes people.
You wont get over her death, just used to it.
God bless and sorry for your loss.

Been there, cancer is the devil. Got my Mother, and Grandfathers, all the same way. 3-4 weeks. Guess it's better than those who, through early detection, fight it for a long time. In any event, condolences. As others said, you don't get over it, you learn to live with the loss.

Please accept my condolences.
My mom's been gone almost 21 years from a heart attack she had while I was on the phone with her. My brother died 12 years ago after a long, drawn-out battle with lung cancer. The struggle changed him into someone else. Both ways are hard for everyone, but I think a shorter illness is a blessing in some ways. It's good that you had some time with her before she passed.
Again, I'm very sorry for your loss.
What fresh Hell is this?

whelennut,
May God bless you. I am so sorry for your loss. I still want my dad to be sitting in the chair when I go into the living room.

whelennut - I'm sorry. Yes, sometimes the serious effects appear very late and cancer death can be so very swift. Your loss must feel painfully sudden and keen, but from one who has lost a dad and two brothers after drawn-out battles with cancer, her short suffering and quick passing may be some blessing for you and your family. I feel for you in your loss and pray for peace for you and your family.

My condolences to you and your family. I lost my Mom 8 years ago, I just heard her laugh yesterday. Don't take anything for granted. Enjoy the time you have. It won't last forever. Damn good advice, spoken by one in the "know".

Sorry for your loss. I disagree. She didn't stop living. She escaped a frail and dying body.

WN,
I am sorry for your loss, please accept my condolences to you and your family.
It's a sad thing to say, but the person who has not been affected by cancer is rare - that's just how evil and far-reaching it is.

Again, sorry for your loss. I lost my mother to cancer the same day the Challenger exploded. She was 54 years old. Her cancer was long and drawn out, being diagnosed September 1984 and passing January 28, 1986. It tore the hearts out of my children to watch her go down that way.
