The death penalty was the means by which populations purged themselves of the genes that produce psychopaths. It's been working that way for thousands of years. As it has faded into history, the number of psychopaths casually roaming the streets and taking them over has increased geometrically.

1. Banning the death penalty makes sense from a doctrine/religious status. You CAN NOT state that all life is sacred and that abortion is wrong while also pulling the lever on old sparky.

2. I'm fine with the tax exemption because there's ZERO flipping way the taxes that the government take from religious entities will ever, in any way, be used as well as churches do. I don't care if the churches use the money to light the candles in a basement boiler room during the day with no one involved. It's better than what the .gov will do with them.

If the Vatican wants to end the death penalty, then they should bear the cost. I'd be happy to ship every American death row inmate to Vatican City so long they the feed, cloth house and contain them until the end of their natural lives. If the Pope is now willing to cough up the cash for this endeavor, then he needs to STFU.

The liberalisms and socialism slant of the Catholic church also has some conflicts with abortion and birth control politicized issues.

He's a the Obama of popes, plain and simple.

An excerpt from the link;

"The purpose of the Jesuits is the propagation of the Catholic faith by any means possible."

Looks as though he is being a good Jesuit.

Link.

The third biggest mucky-muck in the Vatican is a fellow named Pell, he is currently being investigated by the Victorian Police for paedophilia.

Any goodwill or good intentions the catholic church has ever earned or had was instantly negated when they continue to support the kiddy-fiddlers.

The current pope is a commie-lite schit-stain, I have no respect for that idiot.

This pope continues to erode his credibility...I am glad he is speaking out. This will slowly degrade him in the eyes of those who actually think the guy is something beyond an ordinary man.

He's an activist and anti-capitalist that needs to STFU and mind his own business, whatever that is.

Factor in the legion of Catholic leader pervs and the "Church" could be on the cusp of losing a good swath of U.S. support.

Those aren't even comparable due to a moral concept called justice. When a murderer forfeits their life, it is justice.

From a practical standpoint, some people should not be kept alive because they become bargaining chips when they are imprisoned. Bargaining chips that cost innocent people their lives. This happens all the time, especially in Israel with Palestinian prisoners. And look at S. Africa and all the chaos that Mandela caused. That guy should have been fried long ago, all the innocent life he cost.

After hearing this guy for a couple of years now, I wonder just how infallible is the pope? Its becoming a topic of considerable wonder throughout the catholic community.

I no longer ascribe to Catholic doctrine, but know it fairly well. Infallibility doesn't refer to the Pope's every expression of an opinion, but only applies to points of doctrine where he explicitly intends to bind the faithful to that belief.

Infallibility only pertains to statements of doctrine, usually in conjunction with the findings of a council.

Infallibility has NOTHING to do with the day-to-day spoutings of whoever holds the office. While that man may be a good man, he is as human as the rest of us.
