I have a new Remington rifle that will chamber only factory ammo. The fired brass is very hard to extract. The fired brass cannot be rechambered before or after full length resizing. What are some possible causes and solutions for this problem? Less than ten rounds fired through it and it started this with the first round.

I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

If the rifle is new with less than 10 rounds thru it, I'd contact Remington regarding the issue. I wouldn't use the "h" or "r" words in the conversation.

That's my plan Craigster. Can't call them today. Just wondering what it could be. Never had a problem with factory ammo before or a new gun.

quick guess. out of round rough chamber? what does the fired case look like compared to a new one. have you used a good micrometer and taken several measurements around the circumference. when you call you will have to stress the issue with the hard extraction because if the factory ammo chambers fine they will not care about you wanting to reuse the case after firing.

Brass looks fine. Looks like a fired brass. With the extraction problem I would've expected a lot of scratches or a few deep scratches.

Did you measure the fired brass for out of round?

Send it back to the big R as you only used their factory loaded rounds in it
