What cracks me up is how many Brits come over here on holiday and it seems the first thing they want to do is go to the range. My wife has had several coworkers from over there ask her if there are any public ranges around when they come for business. To them it's an adventure. Poor bastards.

When i was in high school we had a German exchange student. He ended up falling in with my friends and I. He LOVED going shooting. He said there was a rifle club near his home town that held an event once a year where the public could pay a few bucks and shoot a rifle. Told us people would wait in line for hours to pop off a couple rounds. He simply couldn't wrap his head around the fact that as a high schooler I had a shot gun, a few cases of shells and a .22 in my room that I could use whenever I wanted. I don't know the specifics but he said gun ownership there is very cost prohibitive and a major pain in the ass. i ws always jealous of him though cause his exchange family would let him drink beer at dinner because I guess his family in Germany also did.
