I think Trump would look good in Third.

I doubt it. Trump is a couple of points ahead of Rubio in the polls.

Trump will be barnstorming Texas through Super Tuesday,...just to rub Cruz's nose in it.

This is a sport to Trump.

By the way,...you probably don't want Rubio hear you say that you want to pull for him.

He'll grin and get his peter out.

from the rolling stone article linked in another thread

"Thus it was no surprise that after Iowa, columnists tried to sell the country on the loathsome "Marcomentum" narrative, a paean to the good old days when reporters got to tell the public who was hot and who wasn't – the days of the "Straight Talk Express," "Joementum," etc.

"Marco Rubio Was the Real Winner in Iowa," blared CNN. "Marco Rubio's Iowa Mojo," chimed in Politico. "Forget Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio Is the Real Winner of the Iowa Caucuses," agreed Vanity Fair.

Rubio, we were told, had zoomed to the front of the "establishment lane" in timely enough fashion to stop Trump. Of course, in the real world, nobody cares about what happens in the "establishment lane" except other journalists. "

It's simple transitive-property rhetoric, and it works. The press went gaga for Rubio after Iowa because – why? Because he's an unthreatening, blow-dried, cliché-spouting, dial-surveying phony of the type campaign journalists always approve of.

And when Rubio gets exposed in the debate as a talking haircut, a political Speak n' Spell, suddenly the throng of journalists who spent the past two weeks trying to sell America on "Marcomentum" and the all-important "establishment lane" looks very guilty indeed. Voters were supposed to take this seriously?

He didn't say he would vote for him. His bet is that the Texas Democrats will split the vote between Trump and Rubio. Texas has open primaries and as many democrats vote in them as Republicans. There is no party registration in Texas.

Cruz will need every vote he can get in Texas.

I think all of you Texas gals should listen to cur and vote for Rubio.

I mean, don't leave any desperate stone un-turned.

Go Rubio!

I bet you do. If it weren't for Rubio, Trump would already be back in Manhattan with the Genovese's.

--------

Well, there is the fact that Trump has taken the majority of all of Cruz's votes in most every demographic save for a couple in Iowa.

There comes a point when Cruz has to reach for 2nd place by obtaining his own votes, not the votes of others.

The battle for 2nd and 3rd has been fun to watch for a couple of weeks, until it got boring, but I really need to begin focusing on Trump and the general election.

As an aside, how long after the debates tonight before the usual tards speak of how Trump blew it, Cruz and Rubio nailed it and the next day Trump rises 5 more points in the polls?

2 minutes?

Just like the "poll bonanza" you mentioned in another state.

But he is stuck on 34% even after all those "Bonanzas" you reported.

And Pat's right about the Democrats being all giddy to get to choose which liberal they want to vote for in the R primary.

until at least 2 drop out, that's all it takes to win.

Oh, like the 45% stuck as he was in Nevada?

After Bush was out?

Hey, pull for Rubio.

Your strategies have been stellar thus far.

I doubt if Rubio gets double digits in TX. TX isn't Rubio country. Unless you lived there, it is hard to explain.

I lived in TX 3 years. Lived in a lot of other places as well. NC, NY, VA, FL, MI and CA. TX is a different cat as far as a state and the people there are different. Actually, TX has the best people of any of the places that I have ever lived in. Even the Hispanics in TX are worlds different than the ones in CA.

Its a good place to get a job too. It was nice to live in a place that actually has a growing economy and down to earth friendly and generous people.

Side note: The worst thing you could do to a Texan is tell them how to live and what to think. Second worst is telling them that Texas will never become its own country. With access to the Gulf for commerce and ability to make their drill their own gas, I actually think they could pull it off.

Only Trump would go to the Convention with 34% of the delegates and demand the nomination be awarded to him.

Rubio will definitely win some delegates just from the Democrat Hispanics in S Texas.

I'm just hoping he pushes Trump down into third place.
