NC is one step closer to an elk season. Hopefully we will make it all the way some day.

They have also tentatively approved full season bear baiting (see bottom of article):

It will be a tough draw hillbilly. I thinking they will give out less than 10 permits/year. Will I apply? Heck yeah!

I think they need to grow that herd a bit more , Unless I am mistaken a few get killed every year intentionally or accidentally.

Is the bear-baiting state wide or just on the coast? I can see it on the coast, its so thick, but in the mountains not so much.

Will they give NC residents first priority or will it be like the Swan permits where OOS hunters have the same chances?

The way I understand it the baiting will be statewide.

Good question and knowing the NCWRC and state legislators they will probably find a way to screw the process up.

The NCWRC considered an alligator season here in NC but that got nixed.

Had they approved an alligator season the rule would have been no firearms , only clubs or spears.

They need to get their heads out of the sand on the alligators. The city nearest me collects gators from the golf courses and d̶u̶m̶p̶s̶ relocates them in the swamp next to our property...

The ones that wander over into Virginia can already be taken by anyone with an open deer tag.

WV is looking into elk, but likely not in time for my old azz.

yep, can't wait for the ELK tag opportunity. Now to find out where they are...

Whatever you are willing to put up with, is exactly what you will have.

When your ship comes in. ... make sure you are willing to unload it.

PAYPAL, sucks and I will never use them again. I recommend you do the same.
