I am not a Winchester collector and have been thinking this is a real gap in my lever gun collection. I have a Marlin 1894, Savage 99, but no Winchester! Thus I am considering picking up a 94 in .32 Win Spec. There seem to be a number of C&R eligible rifles available. That old cartridge has an appeal to me, rather than the common .30-30. Or is the .32 Win Spec just a curiosity?

It's pretty similar to the 30-30. The down side is that it can be a lot harder to find ammo for the 32 Win Sp. I like them both a lot!

I have my dad's .32.. Don't shoot it much, but ammo is around if you look.. I have a bunch.. Handloading is an option also.. I see little difference between the .30wcf and .32.. Have both in a model 94 carbine..

I understand that the .32 Win Special has a slower twist rifling, so it is better for shooting cast bullets at lower velocity. However, there are fewer bullet choices compared to the .30-30 Win.

I have a 94 .32 spl that shoots the new Hornady LeverEvolution ammo very well. If you get one, try that ammo.

A hundred years ago it was the source of many campfire arguments as to which was the better killer, da turdy turdy or da turdy two.

I'd like to find an oddball variant of one myself.

I have a 32 that I got from my Grandfather. I have shot it a few just to be able to say I shot it. Buying ammo for it sucks. It's hard to come by. Reloading it isn't to bad I am sure but I don't have the dies or the desire to reload this gun at the moment. I have other shooters I would rather shoot than this.

The 32 special was made to meet a conceived need. Was once popular in this area back in the 50's and 60's.

It was my first big game rifle 67 years ago. Wish I had kept it.

That nearly duplicates My experience. My first big game rifle was a 32 Special, 1954. But it was a MODEL 64 Winchester not a 94. I received it as a birthday gift and was invited to select which I wanted.

I chose the Model 64 in 32 Special Deluxe because the 32 was advertised as shooting a 170 bullet faster than the 30-30 and the 64 barrel was longer thus giving additional velocity and sight spread distance. I chose the Deluxe because it has checkering. It sure shot many a whitetail in the Adirondack mountains! Was stolen from me in Potsdam NY.

I really like the cartridge and have a 1964 model 94 and a 1948 Marlin 336RC. The Marlin is very strange in that it will absolutely not stabilize any of the 3 major factory loads, key-holes every one of them. I have not tried the Lever-Evolution in it. It shoots perfect 1" groups with handloaded Speer or Hornady bullets.

I have a 1952 model 94 32 win that my grandfather gave me when I was 16.

Everything I have ever shot with it died promptly.

I wouldn't want to get hit with one...

I think kind of like heavier arrows absorb more energy the larger diameter and heavier bullets will make the cartridge more efficient in relation to powder burned. However as an investment perhaps the other way as in the 25 35 maybe more valuable but less useful.
