How hard would it be to find front and rear sight for a 1901 model 1899?

Are they the same for an 1899A, B and C?

thanks, Keith

It ain't easy to get exactly the right ones. They go through ebay if you know what to look for. Never cheap anymore!

Maybe some helpful soul here has spares - not likely I suspect though.

I believe they all used the same as shipped.

Were those early rear sights unmarked?

As far as I know none were marked. For a 1901 gun you probably need one of these two versions of the No. 14 Rocky Mountain rear -

Not sure of the front sights, early catalog description says 'Rocky Mountain Knife Edge'. Most I see are either the same width top to bottom or have a round contour at the top. They came in different heights so you have to be careful not to get one to tall or to short.

The ones with the round top are real thin just below that and sometimes I see ones with the top broken off & just a knife edge left for sale.

I've always wondered if some of the guns I've seen with the Marbles Sheard front sights are original to the gun or not.

Here's a couple pics I found of the sights on a 1904 1899C. The rear looks like one of those shown by Gens. The front is a blade, but a bit different contour than the ones Gene showed.
