Last I heard was Tikka was in fact keeping the T3, and making some minor "improvements". But, that is also speculation, until we actually see it.

IWA show starts tomorrow...wouldn't think they would announce it before then, if they waited this long.

New stock with detachable inserts, proper recoil pad and wider ejection port seems to be the main changes.........

So, which Tikka rep deserves a punch in the face for the BS about dropping the whole line?

Sounds like a good scare tactic to boost interest and sales. Or just to test the waters for reaction.

So, instead they made some minor changes to justify a price increase. Will be interesting to see how much the MSRP got boosted.

I don't think the few changes to the stock are going to be a game changer to those that don't like the stock.

I'm a tikka fan, have several. But I seriously hope berreta/tikka did not compensate their design engineers for these improvements. Join the campfire for free, hit archives, send a few pm's. You could have most of the these upgrades done to your t3 in a day.

They are finally doing something about the noisy synthetic stocks. I stuffed my T3 stainless buttstock to quiet it down. When I checked all my other synthetic stocked rifles, they all came with fillers in there.

I am betting very few.

They should just offer a "bare" model, with no stock. Or team up with McMillan for a real fiberglass model.

So the only actual change is a larger port. My two tikka already wear after market stocks.

Wow thats it!....What a disappointment!...The way some guy's on this site that were supposely "In the know" were letting on there was going to be major Improvements, the only real change I saw was a little wider ejection port, its still got the plastic bolt shroud and trigger guard, And I could care less about the "Improved" stock....It's still the same old "Plastikka" rifle its always been.........Ha!...........Hb

The aluminum lug is now steel and the shroud is no longer plastic -- it's metal too.

The barrel is floated all the way back -- no more speed bumps -- or at least that's the way it was on the rifle I played with.

I enjoy handguns and I really like shotguns,...but I love rifles!
