Whelen, if they end baiting, I dont think there would be half the hunters in Price county. We would have the place to ourselves. . . and if the warden wanted to catch baiters, they could just wait in the truck till they heard a shot. Most likely a baited stand would await them. Contrary to what most think , if there was no bait in the woods, hunters would see more deer, if they knew how to scout. Anyway, I hate those tags. Even refused to wear them for bear. Back tags have surely cost me a few deer from scratching the bark when leaning forward.

I am going to list my back tags in the campfire classified first and if they don't sell on to Ebay.

Each one comes with a piece of blasting cap wire to attach the tag to the deer.

You are right Scott, luck will be needed. grin

You know, I won't feel properly dressed for Wisconsin deer hunting without a tag on my back. Another deer hunting tradition...gone.

I doubt anyone would oppose you donning one anyway.
Might be cool to lay in a mid-50's tag - you'll be all-the-rage in retro-chic.

LOL!

Would the DNR fine you if you wore a back tag?

Hookem--totally agree! The deer would be on their feet and browsing during the day.

I haven't worn a backtag here in NY Catskill park mountains for many years now. Not required.

One state left...New York requires a back tag in farm country, but not in the Northern forest zone.

I have some old Michigan back tags. IIRC, they discontinued the requirement in 1995.

I have a couple of unused WI metal tags in excellent condition, from 1983, that are consecutive numbered that I would gladly send you if you are interested in them.
