HAPPY BIRTHDAY CBJ!!! Nice rifle too! Good on ya Mom & Dad! That smile says it all!

I think Rem still makes those reduced recoil loads in 308 that he can use until he's big enough to pee from the rock and put out the fire.

I'm looking at putting a T3 in my gun cabinet too before they go the way of the DoDo bird. 300 WSM I think.

Happy Birthday Preacher, man have you grown since I first met you. heck of a fine rifle, my .308 loves the 168 burger VLD.

I get to go car shopping with the wife today, her jeep liberty decided to have a catastrophic engine failure on the way to work yesterday morning. repair cost is almost as much as replacement frown she was all a flustered, but I got to save the day. just got it paid off on monday, funny how things work out sometimes.

That sucks Ryan. Sometimes I wonder if we're better off with just driving beaters. My current beauty is a 97 Explorer. Been driving it for a year now. Paid $1600.00 for it and it only had 120,000 on it. No rust holes yet. It runs pretty decent. If I can get another year out of it without putting any big money into it I'll be satisfied.

I drive a 92 chevy 3/4 ton long box extended cab. she's a boat but it just won't quit. mama has a new to her 2011 Ford Fusion in a color I call "mucus green" kind of a pastel color. she likes it, that's all that counts I guess. I commented on how the trunk should fit two deer, I probably shouldn't have said that considering the look I got from her.

now I just gotta figure out what to do with her liberty

I am thinking about switching up the truck thing this year. ND, do you have a 3.5 ecoboost? Any others with that motor? I am curious about towing my 5th wheel camper with it. and my boat behind the camper.

Our truck is too old for all that eco-boostage. We are still running a 5.4.

I'm so out of touch with new trucks, I have no idea what engines they are putting in them these days. I can tell you we drove a 5.0 F150 and I really liked that. I'm not sure how the 3.5 ecoboost would be, but the late model 5.0 half tons have more power than our 09 5.4

Something clever here.

Thanks guys! I have been busy with school catching up with math homework... If I go elk hunting or any kind of hunting I will bring my two rifles! If mom and dad didn't get me those two beautiful nice powerful guns I don't no what I would do!

CBJ, you just be there for folks, respect your elders, and keep filling the freezer. Being a respectful young man will make your folks very proud. Good luck Joey.

I just got a 2011 F150 with the 5.0 and it is sweet. Smooth torquey and gets decent mileage. Hard to keep your foot out of it. Ive had good luck with my old 5.4 216000 miles and no issues other than changing plugs. But this 5.0 is a step up.

Congrats TJAY! Have you been elk hunting before? How many points did your group have? There is something special about elk hunting!

This year, we got a kick to the nards from Wyoming with an avg of 1PP. Next year we are a shoe in though. So this year, we are looking into Montana for archery elk. I really dont know where to go, but it will be somewhere in MT. Dont have much time either!

From the published #s, the 3.5 has more anger than the 5.0 and I have heard other people tell me they like their 5.0 as well. I will miss the Super Duty though, I really like it.

Wife and I each had 2 points. This was enough for 100% on a general tag. We are booked with Triangle X Ranch. This has been a bucket list trip of mine since reading outdoor life 50 years ago. Decided I am not getting any younger so it is time. I have shot cows, 4, but never a bull..

Good luck in Mt. I have not hunted there since the early 90s.

My bonus check comes in this Thursday. I'll be getting a crossbow, so plan on doing lots of stick and string this fall. Turkey season's rapidly approaching too. It all ready feels like spring has sprung with all the cardinals singing and whatnot.
