Here's what I've got so far: A Bighorn Arms SR2-SA, a #2 Brux ss (fluted) and a McMillan Mountaineer (ordered, waiting any day for arrival), Timney trigger. The only thing I need is bottom metal, spring and follower...so which one? Eddie Fosnaugh will be working his magic on this one.
This is going to be a hunting rifle hopefully shooting 140 gr. Accubonds, and I've got 500 pcs. of Lapua brass. Not interested in shooting this long range, but hopefully 500-600 yards for fun. It's for my youngest son to start hunting with (first and last rifle I'll get him).
I've looked at the PT&G stuff as well as Sunny Hill...suggestions? Thanks fellas!
Everybody has the right to a wrong opinion.

Hawkins precision bottom metal is what I'll be trying on my next build! Very well built! Nothing wrong with PTG either.

I'll 2nd that - on the Hawkins anyway. I've not handled one but they do look nice. I've had several TG Oberndorfs but several would pop open when shooting so no more of those. I'm also a big fan of the Badger M4 in alloy, spendy but nice IMHO. Sounds like a nice build!

PTG or Factory remington. I've ran both and never had either pop open or fail.
Badger M4 is heavier and requires a bigger inlet. Eddie could open it up, but that's even more $$ and more weight.

True, if its not already inlet for the Badger it will require some added stock work. But the M4 in alloy is not heavier than say the PTG alloy Oberdorf - have/had both and they weighed basically the same.

If you run a Badger M4 and want to installed a Timney 510, get the dremel out. They don't have much room to work with when milling. Badger fixed this when they designed the updated M5 DBM.
