after report comes out they spent crazy amounts of money on employee parties and conferences

CEO Steven Nardizzi and COO Al Giordano were voted out by the group’s board of directors following reports that Wounded Warrior had been spending too much on fundraising and lavish parties, and too little on actual charitable work.

The veterans’ charity, the largest in the country, has been facing questions about its spending habits. An earlier CBS report showed that the organization spends only 60 percent of its budget on helping veterans, while other charities devote upward of 90 percent of their budgets to such action.

According to the report, which was based on interviews with more than 40 former employees, the WWP spent $3 million on a four-day conference in Colorado for 500 of its staff members.

We've been hearing about WW problems for quite a while. I know some guys here have said that they've start donating elsewhere to be sure their money gets to the vets who need it. This confirms the rumors.

Possibly semantics, but the group is Wounded Warriors PROJECT and not foundation. Don't want folks to get confused as to which group is associated with the problems.

A search on WW Foundation came up empty. Is there such an organization?

Disabled American veterans. Seems to be pretty well run. Have been donating to them for years.

God bless our vets they're the major reason I have any money to donate

Plus, WWP is anti-gun and their leader confirmed their anti-gun policy in an interview on Tom Gresham's radio show.

If a 501 (c)(3) needs CEO's, it's out of control.

I sould come to no surprise for most that WW has been poorly run for years. The do go good for many Vets but the spent way to much on themselves. I hope things get straightened out and the money donated goes where it should.

A little tidbit of human nature - those who preach charity the most always expect to be on the receiving end of that charity.

Unfortunately this is why I never donate to large organized charities. I'm a skinflint when it comes to heartfelt generous giving and don't wish to buy the CEO new office furniture nor give any of the C level people lavish perks.

There is one local charity I do give generously to but I personally know the two ladies who are running it and know exactly where that money goes. Despite being the recipient of lots of donations, one of the women can't afford to buy herself a new wall unit air conditioner, all of her money goes toward the people she serves.

Maybe they can get jobs at the VA.

We may know the time Ben Carson lied, but does anyone know the time Hillary Clinton told the truth?

How about the employees who were enjoying all the parties and travel? They all should have known better.

Of course it needs a CEO, but not in the pattern of General Motors or Apple.
