am going to load 4 or 5 hundred 32 specials for a 1966 and a 1958 winchester 94 what are the folks loading for these getting the best groups from speer or hornady 170 flat nose ,as i read the hornady 170 fn is 320 diam not 321 any info? no i am not interested in any info on 165 flex tips.thank you.

I load the Hornady 170gr in a '42 M94. The box says .321" so I checked them and that is exactly what they are.

I use the Speer bullet with 36.0 gr. of W748. IMR4064 and IMR4895 have also worked well, but I keep coming back to the W748. This has worked very well in a model 94 made in 1949, and less well in one made in 1957 and a Marlin made in 1947. The last two don't shoot particularly well with any thing.

I've been using this load for quite a while;
Speer 170 HotCor
Rem 9-1/2 primer
W-W brass
31.5 grains of IMR3031
2012 AVG FPS from a 1958 built Winchester M94 Carbine.
Shoots a 2" group at 100 yards (using a Redfield receiver mounted peepsight).
