I don't see how it hurts anything, but it allows you to put a suppressor on and shoot quietly if you so choose, so win, win, right? What am I missing? Eat moose, burn spruce

"Moderators" are very popular in Britain for shooting in settled areas. They use full-power ammo, so the report is merely "moderated", but it helps keep the peace with civilians. I don't think there's any restriction on their possession, which is strange considering the rest of their laws, such as licensing airguns that generate over 12 foot pounds of energy. A show I watched yesterday on shooting wood pigeons featured the shooter calling the police before he started to prevent them from sending the SWAT after him in response to the gunfire. He bagged 126 from one spot. "Field Sports Britain" and "The Shooting Show" are two good channels on YouTube that have a lot of hunting stuff from shooting rats at night with NV equipment to red stag and boar hunting. What fresh Hell is this?

When you think about it, it's our laws that are strange on suppressors not theirs. They're just mufflers, there's absolutely no reason to regulate or restrict their use. It's like charging a tax for putting a muffler on your car.

Seriously considering a 243 to keep it company in the safe...what's not to like?
