RCBS can shampoo my crotch. The last three times I have called them needing service I get a dill weed who knows absolutely nothing about reloading or RCBS equipment. I then get transferred and like clockwork sit on hold for 15 minutes before dill weed picks up again and says no one is available to help but they will call me within 24 hours...wich they never do...its between 48 and 72.

What are you guys seeing? Service better at Hornady?

Always had great service the several times I've called. The one time I waited I had a message telling me I was "the third caller"; waited maybe 5 minutes.

Don't call, just email. They send a confirmation within a day or so, and tell you what was shipped.

I have an old set of "Carbo" 45 Colt dies. I asked them about changing it to decap on sizing die instead of the expander, as set up.

They sent probably $25 worth of parts, including 5 extra decapping pins.

They were great the one time I called them, sent me replacement decapping pins free of charge.

That was quite a few years ago though, things could have changed.

I called them with a broken expander ball, they sent me a complete assembly at no charge. I will continue to use their products...

Email them, they send out what ever I need, may take a week, but they always get back to me, and don't ask any questions, but "what's your address"...

Never had better service than when I've called RCBS. Each time, I've ended up with free replacements along with other free parts (spare lock ring, etc).

They've been really good to me on some things but then recently I bought a set of $99 competition dies and I couldn't get them to make decent run out at all. I was pretty sure it was something quirky about the seating stem and bullet profile and when I called them they said I should buy a different seating stem and it was no longer as cheap as it was listed in their paperwork it was going to be something like $26 for just the stem. Heck I didn't pay more than that for my full set of Hornady dies and the seater blows away the competition one from RCBS.

I don't like to call them if I can find the parts I need on the rack at the local gun store. Calling them feels like welfare. They won't take money; all they want is an address...and then they throw extras in like it's Christmas every day of the year. smile

I'm done with RCBS dies and their customer service. Had a case stuck in a custom die they "couldn't" remove, but were willing to make me another die for almost $300. They sent it back and I got it out.

The other day this 250 savage mess. Checked warranty, only to original owner. Not even going to send it to them.

Gee, I have been using their products for decades and whenever a problem has arisen, they have been excellent to work with. I have yet to send them a dime for anything that has needed to be replaced or I just wanted to update.

I have nothing but great things to say about their customer service....

My experience as well.

At least their call center isn't in Bangladesh... blush

I just love talking to Rao, even if he says his name is Randy...

Doesn't take long to figure out, he ain't from Nebraska...

Looks like the brass was over annealed and too soft. Or needed some lube on the necks.

I've never had problems with their customer service, nor with any other die manufacturer, including Lee.

Too well annealed?

Or perhaps you need an elliptical expander ball...like a 257 Roberts stem on a Hornady die?
