Gentlemen, I admit to having "issues" with anything both expensive and rifle related out of Germany, however, I have finally found something that is just too far out there not to shake my head. I give you the Recknagel NSB-Banded Ramp Assembly... Only the Germans... http://www.recknagel.de/Joomla/images/stories/Downloads/NSB-banded-ramp-info-sheet-recknagel.pdfRegards, Matt.

Except, apparently, Germans....
I like German rifles a lot, but have seen some, ah, German accessories that are a really way out there, including some of their scope mounts. But this top them all!

No one, and I mean no one, can over engineer something like the krauts.

Guilty as charged. Maybe the Swiss, when it comes to watches.
That said, over here, the use of Tracking dogs on along Leash is common practice. Dog handlers carry the rifle slung across their back. A Swivel at the muzzle keeps it out of dirt and from catching on branches.
So-it is at least an answer to a question asked.
A technical sound, beautifully executed and very exclusive(price) one at that...

No can do. They need to come up with one for suppressor use. Paging Recknagel.

Albert Speer would be very proud. But hell, all I want to do is bring home another elk!

When it comes to bolt rifles, after the Mauser 98 the Krauts mostly went downhill IMO. They do delight in over-engineering...

If they made it so you could put a can on it, add a couple more mystery knobs that turn and make loud clicks and some lazer lights to boost the mystique. I'd buy a boxcar load and sell them to those guys I see at the range playing dress up who like things that emphasize and enhance their tactical coolness and rugged pretend.

Take a look at the trigger mechanism on a Krieghoff. If they were not made so well, they wouldn't work. There are enough little springs to lift an F250.

Having bought an azzload of very sophisticated refinery equipment from the German's I can only look back, with hindsight, and ask why... In the end it all worked fine but what a biotch it was reaching that end, both technically and contractually. That said, I do own a handful of very nice, simple German sporting rifles.

Well, as mentioned, I own a Blaser R8, and have owned a R93 and a K95 with their proprietary base/ring sets as well as different barrels; if there was any thing "over-engineered" in any of them, it never showed in their functioning which was always dependable and usually with superior accuracy and flexibility (switch barrel system).
There are a lot of things in and of Western Europe that can stay there. German guns are not one of them. Actually, that goes for English, Spanish, and Italian shotguns, Sauer, Sako, Blaser, CZ and Krico rifles too. Even the Mauser, father of the model 70, originated there.
On the contrary, I have a little trouble when contemplating some of the junk, with the ergo's of a 2"x4 or a fence post, that turn out here regularly. Not that they may not shoot well on occasion but workmanship is often non-existent and aesthetics are often on par with a corn cob pipe. As I think about it, it is a perception that developed from shooting foreign and domestic this 'n that over many years.
I think it's at least part of the reason there are so many small shops here that build customs, and so many guys that keep them in business.
The object of the OP may seem gimmicky and is no doubt expensive but their hunting culture and styles are different than ours also. If I was a betting man, I'd bet it was well made. As to utility, that's another question.
