These are all things your wife should have finished for you by the time you get home from fishing.

I hear ya mule1, wifey isn't as happy as she could be.

Seems the wax ring on the toilet above the den gave way some time ago. Seems the missus was on the couch watching TV when it decided to come through the drywall ceiling above. Seems the missus doesn't like black water in her hair. Upstairs demo, subfloor, concrete backer, tile, drywall, base shoe, prime and paint - downstairs demo, carpet, drywall, ceiling, texture, prime, and paint. Seems this project will keep me from doing any manly things for a while.

You left out the spa day for the wife....

Am I saying that right? "spa day"?

Spa day? I sorta thought she already had her spa with the splashdown. I think it might be a little too soon for me to joke about her schitty hair quite yet. laugh I was the "flush-er" that evening. It was burrito night.

Demo is about done. Got 4 dehumidifiers drying things out now (along with our sinuses)and a HEPA filter running. It's going to be a terrific spring break.

Don't have you have insurance? I would think they'd take care of most of that stuff.

Yeah I do and yeah they would, but the agent said if there's another claim in 3 years I would probably be dropped and if I did find another company that would carry me after 2 claims in 3 years, my rates would certainly double. He also said that even after 1 claim my rates were sure to go up.

In the end, I said screw it, I'll do it myself. Dunno what 20 years of never used home insurance is for. I guess if your house burned down or tornadoes - something catastrophic...not poo water leaks.

Exactly why homeowners insurance is nothing more than organized crime mad

My boy got me today. He knows I trim my beard/goat every other day or so. Usually first thing in the am before my shower when I'm half asleep. He took the trimmer length guide off. Scalped my own chin before I figured it out. Kinda looked like the old guy on Orange County Choppers but with a really bad off center foo-manchu. So I shaved it all off with a dull razor. Most of the bleeding stopped by my first appointment.

The kid is going DOWN. Hate to be a 14 year old returning from spring break with one eyebrow. :P

Might have to. This is starting to get expensive. Wife said if we're getting new carpet down there we may as well get new furniture, then she played the "poo water in my hair" guilt thing. The upholstery cleaner folks I've talked to say it's nearly impossible to get that out of the sofa. Throwing around words like bio-hazard and CAT 3 water. I think I'm screwed again.

Lol, yep. That's pretty much when I figured it out too, when I saw the ground turn white.
