Cabelas in Dundee Michigan has one in the library 1799.00. I'm no model 70 guy but I'd guess 90% gun or so. After handling it I see why you guys like the feather weights

Flip rear sight, plastic butt, and scope mounts. Metal looks good, little wear and the stock has a few small dings and one spot of discoloration.

Desireable caliber, but at that price a 90% gun with a plastic plate would not be a good buy (or any kind of buy) for me....

I lived for 33 years or so in NW Ohio and the Dundee store always seemed to be good on M70's prices.... But I agree with PJack on that price. Way too much.

Everyone says "It's worth what someone will pay for it", but, IMHO, this one is about $500 high.

We have a collector/user cultural rift. smile

The collectors will worry about a couple hundred bucks, obsess over condition, sight hoods, etc.

The users (me) could GIS less... smile I'd pay the $1600, slap it in a Micky or Brown....and hunt it.

Five years and as many big bucks from now I'll forget I paid $200-$300 too much.

Like this one from a collector's estate.....$1500 6-7 years ago. smile

I was once told you never pay to much but you might pay to early. Sooner or later it all comes together.

Not a 270 but Cabelas also have a fairly nice .243 Fwt for $1100.

The .243 is a good buy, priced lower than most in that condition. The .270 not a good buy, $400-$500 overpriced for the condition. I have found .30-06 FWT's priced like the .270 but then I have found them priced $900-$1000 which I believe is more realistic. By watching what sells and which get relisted multiple times you can pretty well descern what most buyers are paying.
