Model 70 PF action.
270 Take-off barrel.
Re-jeweled bolt.
Re-blued by yours truly.
Richard's MF stock (Rough Inlet) American Black Walnut shaped and finished by yours truly.
Rings and bases from a drawer in the gun room, re-blued to match..
Old Denver Redfield Widefield.
Modified Mag box from the original 2 pc set-up.
Steel follower from another junk drawer.
PTG Orbendorf Steel bottom metal.
Basically it's a cheap-azz Frankenchester winter project. Laffin'!

Shot it for the first time today with some loads for one of my other rifles. Shows promise. grin Carried it afield for the first time, while checking game cameras. Figured I may see a coyote. Only saw some deer.

you hit the lottery with that stick.

They say everything happens for a reason.
For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

Nice Hill country setting with a classic '95. That's a great idea for a simple deer blid. just make a rock enclosure.

The first one is two weeks old and this one came yesterday. I plan to hunt the first one next year on our annual elk hunt. This one will stay in the box for now.
I've only tried 150's so far but have 160's and 175's sitting on the reloading bench.
Once I get some range data, I'm going to start a new thread.

Just got a fresh batch of Norma brass yesterday too, although I can't fault Prvi Partisan.
