The 120 grain Nosler BT paired with H4350 has worked fantastically for me on deer out of the .280AI. I can see no reason it would not do the same thing out of the standard .280.

120 B-Tip and H4831 @ 3198 fps. Works well.

If I was a young man, I would build a Remington w/280 custom barrel at 23in in a light weight fiberglass stock w/3-9 or straight 6x for all of my big game hunting. I really did that in that I instead built a 7x57Ackley Improved at 22in in Brown precision stock w/a Schmidt and Bender Klassic 3-12x42 w/#4 reticle. I get 3050fps w/the 140gr BT w/RL19 and that's all I've ever used for deer and hogs in Texas. I feel sure I could get 2900-2950fps w/the 160gr Partition and if I ever get a chance to go mule deer hunting or elk hunting...that's what I'll use. You see mines just a 280 short/fat. powdr

160g Sierra BTSP

look in the nosler manual for the load, their accuracy load for the 160g
The sierra is simply unreal at this velocity and super accurate in the 280.

My second favorite rifle is the 280. I didn't get one soon enough to be my favorite. I shoot 139 and 154 Hornadys and 150 NP's.
