This is a walnut stock with the small brass pin just in front of the trigger area. This is from a 8mm mag rifle. BDL with checkering. Some very light hunting marks but nothing bad. $135 shipped pics here

Nice stock! Makes me wish I had a rifle to put in it. A price might help though.

I believe Remington started putting the brass pin in the 700's in '62 for sure and although I haven't looked at a new wood stocked Rem I think they still use it? Installed between trigger inlet and mag box inlet to strengthen the stock where the wood is very thin. However, I have been wrong before but I have or have had 700 stocks from '62 up into the late 90's and all have them. I even have a VLS laminate with the tenite tip that came on a 22/250 brother bought in '99 IIRC and it has it. Although on it they install tenite black plugs on each side to hide the brass pin and I suspect they assumed the black contrast would go with the tenite tip and grip cap? Heck maybe the 721 and 722's even used it? Don't have one here to confirm though. Just an FYI.
Respectfully, Dennis
