Well, the magnet came in and me and my little booger-butt took it down to the creek at a major civil war crossing. I think we did pretty good for our first time and now she is hooked. If you have kids and are looking for a fun and easy hobby to get them outside, check how happy my little girl gets in this video. magnet fishing with my daughter loads of fun

Nice video.
One question: So everything was pitched into the river back in the 1930's to late 1800's. Well, I've found Civil War stuff at this location not far from where we found the horseshoes. So I imagine the stuff dates back to at least the year the mill was built which would have been pre-war.

I like this idea better than taking them real fishing! It's a lot easier at this particular age my daughter is. Not as much of a hassle for sure.
