Ah, ha, NO! This was ML, and slug hit in front of her and low. Was hoping it was "fresh" tenders for supper that evening. Had me so perturbed I dug out some year old venison for supper. Guess will just have to chalk up to my ongoing battle with stupids!

Well, so far it looks I'm probably going to have to own up and ask for the salute.
I have another season coming where I will be able to get serious, so can still hope. Got the Big Boy I want to work then, and really have to bare down and not make mistakes on those guys. The stalk is my favorite also for those old guys, win or lose, always seem to learn something about those older bucks for future reference.

2 for 3 so far this year. 2 does with a muzzle loader, but I missed a nice 8 point at 350ish yards (he was standing in front of a tree I'd just lazered at 368) sharply uphill with my .308.
I've gone over the shot dozens of times in my head and still can't figure out what I did wrong. My only excuse is my hunting partner was also staring him down through his scope and whispering "hurry up and shoot or I'm going too". I musta rushed it a little.

Getting a shrit tail cut off for missing is just an old wive's tale.
It's what the old timers told their wives had happend to their shirt tails when the truth was; they had forgotten to take any TP with them. Rather than use grass or leaves to answer the call, they sliced off their own shirt tail and used it to wipe with.
Oh yeah, all my shirt tails are intact, and clean. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> But all the pockets came off in the wash...........right... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />
If you're gonna grille it, you gotta kill it!
You can't miss 'em fast enough to kill 'em!

I missed one with the 44 mag blackhawk at about 40 yards, uphill. That was too bad, because he was pretty nice. Made up for it the next day, when another nice buck was kind enough to stand still 40 yards from me. Scoped .270 that time though, bang-flop.
The Red Gods were smiling in my direction this year, thats for sure.
