Here are 2 pics after the blocks for the bases were welded on to the receiver and machined.
I was going to ask, if they welded then machined but I thought no to much distortion of the action. Very impressive.

There was a discussion on another forum about this. I also posted these pics there. Patrick Holehan has been doing it for years. I remember reading about him in the custom builders section of The Shooter's Bibles going back to 2000. Curt Crum turns his stocks.

Nonetheless, it's still a nice Classic.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Here's one of my favorites. Been a safe queen but have decided it needs to go hunting. Pre 64 My 70 7 Rem mag by Len Brownell, French walnut and nicely checkered and shaped stock. Old school custom rifle and hard not to like. Tony Suprano's rifle is very cool beans !
The 280 Remington is overbore.

Bob, I love that rifle. Reminds me of some of Biesens stuff. I'm drooling! I'm glad you are posting pictures too, so we can see some beautiful rifles.

bsa/Odessa: Thanks. Brownell was one of my favorite custom rifle makers. he did it all...metal and stock work. Very talented guy. A contemporary of JOC, he built the 30/06 FW that was Eleanor O'Connors "big rifle" and with which she killed elephant on Zambia and tiger in India. I am the third owner of this rifle, which was built in the early 70's,and (i'm told) the first to shoot it LOL! Don't have many closeups but will see what we got here:
The 280 Remington is overbore.
The 7 Rem Mag is over bore.

Give me a few minutes or days and let me see if I can find a rifle in my vault that is worth shooting. Do you recommend shooting rats with Bitterroot bullets?
