I was looking through the latest issue of the American Hunter and saw a new 700 variant, the "American Wilderness Rifle". It is going to come out this summer with cerakote and a grayboe stock. Anyone heard of a grayboe? Supposed to come from McMillan lineage, but be less expensive. I can't find much on the web yet.

Interesting. My only concern would be they mention the forend is slightly oversized to accept a # 5 contour. I really like the slim forend on my McMillan. Love to get one in my hands or hear from someone who has one.

It'll be very interesting to see whats comes of this.
If it's relatively svelte in the wrist and comes with a modest price, there'll likely be a little sweat emanating from pores at B&C and HS.

Solid fiberglass? I can't imagine they are very light.

A spin-off from McMillan. Ryan McMillan is leading the charge. I'd expect good things. The Fusion has my eye. Looks/sounds like it may be comparable to the Game Scout, maybe the Game Hunter.

So far the only sporter model they seem to have looks like a very close copy of a Remington Classic. Their specs show average weight as 2.6 lbs or over 41 ounces so definitely not a lightweight. The average McMillan standard fill I've used (Remington Classic, BDL and Win Supergrades) runs about 32 ounces. In fact most wooden Remington BDL factory stocks don't run much over 32-34 ounces depending on wood density.

That is the same weight and about the same price as HS and a bit more than B&C.

Most people don't really want the truth.

They just want constant reassurance that what they believe is the truth.
