Is there any real working difference between the spray versions of Balistol and Break Free when it comes to gun cleaning and maintenance? Thanks...

Gary O: I use Break Free in my barrels for storage - but that is well after they have been "cleaned" with other products.
Never tried the Balistol.

a friend of ours uses ballistol. First time I"d ever seen it.

Keeps all his MZ from rusting. Talking older MZ with real black powder used.

Says it works well.

I lube with CLP. I clean with other.

On a hunting trip anywhere I bring one bottle of Ballistol.

It cleans fouling in barrels, interacts with water to provide rust proofing and will protect metal, wood, synthetic stocks and leather slings.....everything.It will not harm wood stock finishes. Use it on everything.

Funny thing in cleaning barrels....it does not seem to affect POI. If the rifle bore gets wet, I swab the bore with Ballistol, dry with a patch, and go hunting.

The 280 Remington is overbore.

The 7 Rem Mag is over bore.

I like both but use ballistol much more.

I use Ballistol on my two inline muzzleloaders and it cleans well and makes it a snap to clean the breech plug. I shoot Dead Center pure lead bullets loaded on a full charge of BH209 and ignite it with 209A Federal primers.

Ballistol is the best thing I have found to clean muzzleloaders.
