I really like my Ruger LC9. What I don't like about it is the amount of pressure you need to cock it. I think I am going to look into another 9MM that you don't have to be a Gorilla to pull the slide back. I realize that an automatic needs a good return spring to function, but I think the LC9 has a little overkill. Any suggestions on an alternative CC Automatic?

I've owned and shot the LCP and LC9. Agreed on the slide on both. I ended up with a Glock 19. It's bigger than the LC9 but IMO a lot more enjoyable to shoot than the smaller 9mms and still works as a CCW.

If you are looking to stay with the same size pistol and like the 9mm give the Sig P938 a look. The slide is VERY easy to manipulate. The G19 is another good choice but bigger.

Walther CCP is a delayed blowback(piston) and has a little lighter main spring.

hanks Mike. How about the Walther CCP? I hear that also has the blowback vent and as a result it is also easier to work.

My dealer is touting the Remington R-51 which is a newer model and is supposed to be easy as any on the market to operate the slide. I also hear there was a recall on them last year. I hate to buy a gun without trying the action and no- one has any up here in Wisconsin.

After the R51 fiasco, I wouldn't buy one until they've been out for a couple of years and we knew they would work..

I don't think any Remington R51's have been available for a couple years. No one has any on-line - "Out of stock" or "Not available". Even Remington's web sight isn't listing them! <><> http://empty-cases.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/R51-BeautyShot.jpg <><> But I want one!

I looked at one in Ft. Walton last week seemed like a really nice gun. Will edit my post above if it will let me. Sorry. Mike

As much as I like the. Kahr pistols, I wouldn't say that their slides cycle easy by hand. Although I haven't tried the T series, the smaller ones are stiffer than the K-T PF9. I haven't handled the LC9 either, so that's the best comparison I can make. Easy cycling can be had with Glocks, and other larger pistols such as the HiPower or 1911.

I haven't shot either but Ruger's newer LC9S is a striker version of the LC9. It's supposed to be easier to shoot with a lighter trigger pull.
