What are your favorite movies that center around music/musicians (real or fake).
I liked the following:
Crazy Hearts (with Jeff Bridges)
Rudderless (with Billy Crudrup) excellent movie
Whiplash (J.K. Simmons unbelievably good) not a jazz guy but superb movie
Spinal Tap (of course!)
Crossroads---by far my fave as I'm a blues fan (if you couldnt tell from my screen name). Great writing centered around the Robert Johnson myth, good acting (Robert Seneca NAILS the crusty old bluesman role) and some killer guitar and harp work by Steve Vai, Ry Cooder and Sonny Terry. 🎸👍🏻
It ain't what you don't know that makes you an idiot...it's what you know for certain, that just ain't so...
Most people don't want to believe the truth~they want the truth to be what they believe.
"The Last Waltz", documenting the final concert of "The Band".

"Not in an open forum, where truth has less value than opinions, where all opinions are equally welcome regardless of their origins, rationale, inanity, or truth, where opinions are neither of equal value nor decisive." Ken Howell
Spinal Tap Rock Star Don't Stop Believin': Everyman's Journey Metallica: Some Kind Of Monster The Story Of Anvil Trick Or Treat (dated as hell but great soundtrack by Fastway)
The Last Waltz The Wall Almost Famous Hard Day's Night The Song Remains the Same Streets of Fire - motorcycles, cool lever actions, and a 19 year old Diane Lane!
A good principle to guide me through life: “This is all I have come to expect, standard lackluster performance. Trust nothing, believe no one and realize it will only get worse…”
