I like the matte / bead blasted finish. It doesn't look bad as it is and is ready to paint if you want to go that way.

I usually get my stainless AR barrels in a "Machine" finish which is smooth and bright but not polished. I prefer a matte bead blast finish on my stainless bolt rifle barrels.

matte finish or black, I do not prefer the deer to get the sunshine reflected in their eyes.

I like the look of bright or machined stainless. And, I like the look of fluted. Now, there is spiral and double spiral fluting. I doubt any of it is practical, but life would be pretty boring if everything choice had to be just practical.

I prefer to bead blast my stainless barrels if I might hunt with it. No shiny stainless, and I don't like the rough abrasive blasted finish either.
