I bought one two years ago for packing gear into remote lakes in NW Ontario. They are very high quality and have several compartments to carry whatever you want to bring with you depending on what size bag you get. Rain gear would depend on what type you have. A poncho would be no problem, lightweight rain gear also no problem. If you're talking a full gore-Tex set with bibs and a hooded jacket, that might be a bit much. Having a tackle backpack keeps my hands free for carrying other stuff across the portage and keeps everything from sunglasses, camera and water bottle organized in addition to my tackle.

Get one, you won't be disappointed.
