Come across a used Browning BLR in 308 win. They had it priced at 419.00. It was just a little rough but nothing a good cleaning could not cure. The only flaws I saw besides some bluing wear is the forend of the stock seems to be cracked in a spider web configuration. It looked to be just the glossy finish that is cracked though. Can you tell me whether to pick it up or not for around that price or is it overpriced? Thanks

If you really want the rifle price doesn't matter. If you don't want it the same applies.

As a friend of mine once said:
"The BLR in 308 will be the LAST rifle to go . . . . . . "
Buy it.

I've had one in .308 since 1992, when I was able to get back into hunting. After having several additional rifles, the last few years I should have just used the BLR all the time. I had the shiny finish removed and given a oil finish. From what I've seen of the woods in West Virginia from Greenbrier up to Snowshoe Ski area you wouldn't have many shoots over 50yds,
