Gentlemen,
I was evidently under outdated information that CCI was making all of the US made .17 HMR. I was recently told Winchester Olin brought .17 HMR under their manufacturing umbrella several years back. Is that correct? I've heard it is not, wait for generalization, as accurate as the CCI product. Would appreciate any input...

I bought a case of Winchester Supreme.17HMR ammo a few years ago. I assume it was made by Winchester, because it is the worst most unreliable factory ammo I have ever used. And not just in my Savage, but also in 3 other different rifles. (Granted, all the rifles are Savages, but all of them are reliable with Hornady, Federal and CCI. Have never tried Remington 17 HMR ammo, but willing to bet it would work fine, too.)
Maybe I got a bad batch, but it is bad enough that I will never buy any more Winchester 17HMR ammo. And since I believe all the other "brands" were actually manufactured by CCI, it would sense that Winchester had made their own. Just very badly.
