Or maybe not Grabbed one of the 700 LH SS SA and decided I needed a 6.5... 6.5x47 Lapua, Bartlein 2b at 22", MDT LSS, 10x MQ, etc. 140 Bergers at 2760 with IMR 4451. Should make for a fun high country muley/elk/bear/whatever rig.

Have fun. It doesn't look too fun to carry. Where's the balance point?
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Is that Turnbulls work on the metal? Biesen did the stock correct?

Have fun. It doesn't look too fun to carry. Where's the balance point? Right about on that sloped part in front of the mag. I don't find it to be uncomfortable at all, but everyone is different. Is that Turnbulls work on the metal? Biesen did the stock correct?
Tanner This was actually JOC's personal rifle when he made an effort to shake the gay of the 270.

So far the Bartlein seems very nice. Our first one and don't think it will be the last. Looking forward to seeing it in pics this fall.
The 6.5x47 is so far impressing far more than our 260 Remington. Great brass and 3 different bullets all shooting well.

Nice. What's it weigh as pic'd? I have a 6mm #3 Brux waiting for something. Likely close to the Bart 2b. The chassis looks like fun.

Just a touch over 9 pounds iirc, I'll weigh it in the morning. The chassis is a nice change of pace from "normal" stocks and I like it more than I thought I would originally.
A 6mm creed or XC would be cool...
PS and BTW, this was smithed by Redneck who did a great job per usual.

The star war lines are fetching..... I bet it shoots. You guys don't like the 6.5 Creedmoor?
The 280 Remington is overbore.
The 7 Rem Mag is over bore.

Never shot a creedmoor, but should be pretty close to the Lapua I'd think from perusing ballistics. Flip a coin I guess. Just interested in getting 136, 139, and 140 grain bullets going 2750 to 2800 fps and either would do it. At our elevation expecting good stuff way out there.

The grass is getting a little thin. And why the hell hasn't Tanner changed his name to Hutch?

Tanner, when do we get our free beers for consulting on this project? Think they operate a little differently in Nebrasky... Tanner

I can like it! I have a heavy 260 with a crappy stock and am thinking I may go with one like that just to try.
