I now refer you to today's NYTimes article and the Congressional investigation which reports that the only tangible result of the $488 million collected by the ARC after the earthquake in Haiti is.....6 modest homes.
In other news ( ref: today's WSJ )....the IRS has spent $11 million on guns and ammo....which is $5000 per agent.....
The Department of Veteran Affairs spent $12 million on body armor and night vision optics along with $2 million on guns and $36 million on ammo.
The US Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service recently bought $5 million worth of shotguns, rifles and night vision optics etc..
All total (in what is admitted), US agencies that are not defense related bought $1.5 billion worth of guns and ammo in the last 8 years.
Gulp!
The people wringing their hands over Trump's rhetoric don't know what time it is in America.

When an agency gets more funding than they can use, they brainstorm up fun things to blow it on. This not any malevolent plan. It is just how government operates. They can't spend it in any way that might be seen to benefit themselves directly, like salaries, so they waste it as best they can imagine. All government agencies do this from the local sheriff to the Feds.
All government always has too much money. I should know, I get multiple emails every year asking for ideas on ways to spend surplus budget.

All the alphabet agencies have been gearing up for awhile.
Further proof that regulatory agencies don't mean anything good for We The People.

We don't know who has what anymore, but rest assured, .gov is NOT buying this stuff to further the fight against illegal mexicans or somali muslims.
