We need to raise some money for the repairs of our Historic Ferry wall. It's needed to keep water levels high enough so the 2 Ferrys which transport cars and passengers can run. The water levels are too low right now to run and the dam has needed rebuilt and our small non profit budget won't allow that. You can see more info at Millersburgferry.org and our Facebook page Millersburg Ferry. Any help would be appreciated. https://www.youcaring.com/millersburg-ferry-boat-association-516092

My family and I crossed there several years ago. Fun ride and I loved the signalling system (white doors on each side of the river).

Don't let Baby Bush hear about this. One of the first things he did was set aside a million bucks to destroy a perfectly good dam near Grants Pass, Oregon. The Greens convinced him the salmon, which have been getting up river for seventy-five years, couldn't get up the fish ladder.
Taking out the dam eventually cost about $25,000,000. That is a $24,000,000 over run.

The dam is actually on the national historic registry. Without building the dam back up the boats will remain parked unless we get significant rainfall which generally doesn't happen into the summer.

She's from Valley Forge area, all her family/friends are spread around from there to Harrisburg.

It's been up for 2 days and we are at $910 with a goal of $10,000. We've had ferry transportation here since the late 1700's, primitive maps show them on the Susquehanna at the current location. There's a ton of history here. I have photos dating back to 1890's with steam power. The current two boat fleet has been in this configuration since the late 1920's. https://youtu.be/SYsHLBR0AjA
