Congratulations, Tom,
3 July 69 is my Dad's date of return, he actually arrived back in Minot the afternoon of the Fourth in 1969. And of course, LEFT the fourth in 1968.
Yeah, coming up 50 years. Wow. Even us kids are old.

I notice several guys here were Radio Teletype Operators. So was I although I never left the States. Not much overt shooting going on in 1959. Took my RTO training at Fort Gordon, Georgia, at the S.E. Signal School.

Glad those posting here who served in Vietnam came home. So many didn't.

Happy Independence Day to all.

Rocky,
Do you remember this kid?
Every time he seen me unloading (Loadmaster on 130's) he would come a runnin', because I'd give him some treat to eat.
He'd come right out to the plane, I took this pic from up on the ramp.

I think it was Ban Me Thuot that we use to bring in a load of 2 of the 41' long 175mm barrels (14,000# ea !!) for their guns.

gahuntertom,
I had about another year to go.
Volunteered to be there from May '68, to Mar '70.
Glad we both made it home, and many of my tears for those that didn't...

Thanks for your service Tom, and happy 4th of July! I was one of the lucky 10% in my AIT unit to get sent to Germany instead on Vietnam. Hope life has been good for you.
