I have several silver, once fired WSM, brass. Can these be annealed?

The nickle is so thin it doesn't make much difference. The only thing is it won't show the subtle color change you would see on brass. It goes from no color to cherry red pretty fast.

Best to use a low temp method like JBs candling or use the temperature sensitive indicator paint. Other methods should work too just haven't tried them.

Oh and I agonized over the rough inside of the neck plating. Found a one caliber larger stainless steel bore brush in a drill eliminates that concern quickly. Follow with a steel wool wrapped brush if really concerned.

Not really a good survivor. Stick with the brass for long life.
