My name is Jim Welles and own and operate JFW Ranch Consulting in Albuquerque. We are a full service private and public big game hunting outfitter and have been in business over 20+ years. My e-mail address is JFWRCcomcast.net.

We have the mule deer hunting rights on the Tucson Valley Ranch north of Capitan, NM. This is a 5,000 deeded acre ranch with great mule deer hunting. Deer are not huge but are representative of desert mulies in SE NM. (19-24 wide, a 140-160 is a good buck) Every once in a while a big buck shows himself. The buck in the picture below was taken last year.

We have 4 spots open. We can accommodate 2-4 rifle hunters Nov 19-23, or a couple of archery hunters Jan 1-7, 2017. This is a fully outfitted hunt. Pricing: 5 Day Rifle Hunt $3,300 ea. 7 Day Archery Rut Hunt $4,000 ea.

We can do the rifle hunt "guided only" at $2,750 ea.

Additional costs are NM Gross Receipts Tax and your NM State Licenses of about $345.

The accommodations are a nice 4 bedroom, 1 bath home that is on the ranch. The hunt is guided 2x1. A 1x1 can be arranged upon request.

Are these considered "desert" mule deer for the record books?

Sorry so late getting back with you. I do believe these species would be considered "deserts". However, I am not a biologist and would need to ask someone at our Dept of Game and Fish. If you would like me to do so, please shoot me a PM. Thank you Bigamhuntr.
