I have thought about threading some of my other rifles, but the barrels are really skinny and the biggest thing about hanging a can on one is getting enough meat for a hard 90 degree shoulder. I have a Ruger American 7mm-08 that I would love to thread, but it can only handle 1/2-28 threads and there is basically nothing left for a shoulder at that point. If you look at Ruger's threaded options for the American, especially the Predator models, you will see that they actually increase in diameter at the muzzle end leaving enough meat for a good shoulder. If only Ruger would make a threaded 7mm-08 version.
cotis, Registering against the muzzle instead of a shoulder is also an acceptable and correct way to get this done, and may be the best answer in your case. It does require suppressor threads or a muzzle device designed to register on the muzzle of course, but that's not as uncommon as you might think. Talk to Silencerco about options for your Omega, I think some of their muzzle devices can register on the muzzle.

Who is threading your barrels for $100?
Every 'smith I know... When there's at least a half dozen shops selling suppressors within 30 miles of your house... there's a lot of barrel threading going on. Competition necessitates competitive pricing.... and sales tax is quite a bit cheaper than shipping. Maybe whoever you asked about threading mistook you for a Californian?

I'm going to have to check out the Gemtech (or other) adaptors as my TBAC Ultra 7 is close to getting out of jail and I went with the 5/8x24 CB.

Just (June) bought an Omega 30 supressor that I hope to get sometime this fall. It might be huntable this fall but we will see I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if your Form 4 went in in June, you're probably looking at June 2017.

There is no better way to hunt! All of my personal rifles are threaded for cans, and almost all customer builds have been the same. You give up so little in velocity with a short barrel and gain so much in reduced noise and recoil.

I have a SAS Reaper MX in ATF jail. My check was cashed 2nd week in March. I'm going to use the TOMB system from SAS.

Dan, over at Darkeagle Customs also charges (or at least as of 2015) $100 to thread a barrel. He aligns co-axially and longitudinally.
