It seems like a lot of talking heads are beating this drum from time to time, then you read a thing or two and it sure seems like somebody "up-there" is planning to go full tilt on Persia sooner rather than later.

I am stongly inclined to imagine that Bush2 read that Iraq report, sat back in his chair, propped his cowboy boots up, scratched his haid and said- screw it- lets whoop Iran.

I am none too sure if that would be good or bad, but I am beginning to wonder if it ain't really gonna play out like that.

I don't know what the U.S. is gonna do ... but you can bet your last box of cartridges that Israel is NOT going to allow Iran to become a nuclear power armed with atomic weapons.

The situation is getting critical for America. There is no one in the World we can depend on. We are facing all out war in the Middle East, with North Korea, and with China. Once one of these conflicts begins, the other two will strike, in the hopes of our not being able to fight all at once.
Europe will not help, indeed they, France and Germany in particular, are selling weapons to our future opponents as quickly as they can load the ships.
We are in for a rough time ahead.

Took the words right out of my mouth Wolf!! And, while the US may let Israel have the first crack at it, if any other country moves to aid Iran militarily, the US will then have Israel's back. Commencing sooner, rather than later, is becoming the current reality and mindset IMO

I heard Rick Santorum interviewed on the radio yesterday. He was fairly adamant that Bush will go for broke if it looks like nuke weapons are a reality in Iran.

From what I have been reading, the real problem in Iraq right now is Iranians/[bleep] stirring the pot and fishing in troubled waters.

I gave up trying to figure out the Iraq war, then the thought came to me that fighting ragheads anywhere for any plausible excuse might not be a bad thing in the long view... I dunno...

I firmly believe Israel has it's finger on the launch button already......grin.

I really hope that we don't allow Islamo-fascist countries to get nukes!!

I'm kind of reminded of something my dad taught me as I was growing up. He told me," if you know that your in a situation that is going to end up in a fight, go ahead and throw the first punch. " AS a boy this may have been to much of a go ahead as I quickly assumed every situation would be a fight and I threw. However, it sure makes alot of since in life and especially as an adult. You have to know there is a big advantage to getting the first punch in. This may not be what the world would want and thats probably why I ain't and never will be a politician, but I think If we know its going to come to it, we should just throw the first punch and take that advantage to the fight. With the way we are spread thin worldwide and the others know it, seems like we need every advantage we can get. Just think of it this way, sometimes the first punch is good enough that it knocks your opponent out before they have a chance to fight back. That would go a long way in taking those that line up against us out of play and thin down the enemy opponents.

LW is right. Israel will not allow Iran to have "nukes", and we will back Israel. IMO the only question is when.

If the time comes for another US involvement in the mideast lets hope those in charge understand that our militaty is capable of destroying all life in any city, country or continent but playing politically correct policeman gets a lot of people on our side killed. Just ship some Neutron bombs to Israel, high yield small radioactive signature.

yep, but why would you want to leave anything at all left over there?

Their current leader is not nearly as popular as were led to believe. The bulk of the Iran populace is rather young and secular. Ahmadinejads ideals are under a great deal of criticism and the younger generation is having a hard time tolerating him. If we had enough time, Iran would take care of itself when they get tired of his crap and off him. Unfortunately, its a race between that and him getting a nuke. I think the best course of action is to continue to help sow the seeds of discontent in Iran, and prepare a comprehensive military solution to the nuclear equation.

You're right about his lack of popularity with the people and not just the youth. But he is supported by the religious leaders who are the real power base in Iran. He is mainly their mouth-piece. If he falls from disfavor with them he's history. He did stub his toe recently in a little controversy where it was alledged he stayed to view women dancing at an conference he attended. Like any good Muslim, I'm sure he lied his way out of the issue, but may remain on report. Doing away with him, while a nice idea, would not solve the problem with Iran.

Actually, I am very much looking forward to a Theocracy but when folks substitute Satan for God as the head of such, things don't just go downhill, they plummet into the abyss!

Now they want to drag the rest of the world with them. Misery loves company!
