Just got my new driver's licence in the mail and noticed the people at the licencing bureau have made a mistake. In place of my photo, someone put a picture of a sorry looking old guy. Looks a little like me I guess but after the application of a vitual aging program. On the bright side, there must be some geezer somewhere admiring his licence with it's picture of a ruggedly handsome middle-aged man. GD

A pet peeve, the folks that take forever at the DMV, trying for a perfect portrait. The nice old lady said "lets try again, your glasses were a little crooked" my response "the only person to see this will be a ticked off cop, and he does not care".

Did you sign up as an organ donor? Just be sure they don't show up to collect before you're ready to deliver.

Always get completely shatfaced before you renew.

That way, if you get pulled over for DUI later, the cop will look at your license pic, and think you always look like that, so he'll let you go.

One year while fishing at a fly-in, we didn't have a mirror, so I didn't shave for the week. It drives me nuts to go even two days, but one must endure. On the drive home, when I looked in the rear-view mirror, I was startled to see Walter Brennan looking back at me.

On the subject of driver's licenses, one year my wife and I went in together to renew. When we were handed out licenses, we had each other's photo on them.

Recently had to renew my license. Since I had just turned 80 I had to attend a tune up class for old frts before they would issue the new license. Also just recently I had cataract surgery so that I no longer need glasses when driving. The last thing I asked the instructor "did you remove the restriction requiring me to drive wearing glasses." Yep, sure thing.

When the new license arrived in the mail the glasses requirement was still present. After making several stops at various government offices I was told to attend at a driver testing center to have my eyes tested again. When I did there was a waiting line of 50 to 75 people just 30 minutes before closing time. I am told this is common at the testing office.
The solution seems to be to keep a pair of clear glasses in the car and keep the license I have. Why is it the person who didn't make the mistake has to suffer to try and rectify it?

This isn't a driver's license thing, but when my son was 8 we went to the hardware store to get our hunting license. When they ran his Social Security number through, he got a hit for back child support. It took a trip to the Social Security office with his birth certificate to get that straight.

Back in 2010, just weeks before I retired, I had to make a run to the Pentagon to pick up some of our stuff to move to storage elsewhere. My DOD pass had long expired, so a buddy had to escort me in. The security guy looked at my company ID, then looked at me, then looked at the ID, and then laughed and asked, "Just how long ago was this photo taken?"

I think it was about 1992. About that time they went digital and when new passes were issued they just pulled the pics from the ozone, no Photoshopping!

He sure gets around, I saw him in my mirror, too!
