As long as I can watch the uncut version of Blazing Saddles, I guess I can get along okay.

Is there a day to celebrate the Heritage of the South? And if there isn't...why not? I don't mean a NASCAR event

Confederate Heroes day is still a state holiday here. (State) January 19. R. E. Lee's birthday. We used to get June 3rd off (Jeff Davis' birthday) but they combined them into the Hero day in January about 20-25 years ago. And added MLK day as a holiday.

we all knew it was down hill at Ole Miss when they voluntarily changed their name from the Rebels to the powder puffs.

Most on here will find this funny...

Right out of high school a bunch of us enrolled in the local community college before heading off to the "big" schools. We would get Pell grants to cover books, tuition and expenses. The first checks came in late on a Friday. The following Monday schools and banks were closed for MLK/REL holiday. We figured out The Flora-Bama Lounge would cash those Pell checks. We called everybody we knew and had one hell of a shindig that became known as the first annual James Earl Ray Appreciation Day!
