Interesting...
Everything that went on, up to actually lighting off the 50, has been routine between us and the Iranians for the past 36 years of my knowledge span, and probably longer than that.
Actually firing live rounds is a big escalation and exceedingly rare. No sir. ROE were changed after the Cole and 9/11 SPECIFICALLY prohibiting the use of Warning shots.

The WARNING shots should have been fired on the FIRST go round. Not the SECOND go round.

Ok, maybe this time it will stick: WARNING SHOTS are a DIRECT VIOLATION of standing ROE. If he indeed fired forward firing ordnance, it should have been "for effect". I'd [bleep] the CO just for that.

ROE or not, I think sooner or later the Pers will try a real attack. Especially if HC wins the election. And if Trump wins, they may decide to do as much damage as they can while clueless (Obama) is in office.
