COL listed in the Lee manual is 2.500". In order to get that length, I have to seat the 170gr Hot-cor quite a lot deeper than the cannelure. Is that a problem? I'm using 24 gr of Re7, so, I'm not compressing the load.

Should work fine. The cannelure is for the crimp. I've never worried about it.
