After watching several threads on here during the past few weeks I lobbed a Hail Mary bid in on GB for a new Shield 9mm without the thumb safety. Scored it for an unbelievable price. (At least it seems that way....) It's my second plastic fantastic, the other being a Glock 32. I'm hoping I like the Shield as much as I like the Glock. The Glock has been a surprise to me. Need to get a good IWB for the Shield now. I'm pretty traditional in my preference for good leather holsters.

The Shield carry's like a pocket pistol and shoots like a fulls size pistol. There is nothing to not like about it. I love the Shield, but mine is in 40 S&W. My carry load is the Winchester LE 165gr Ranger Talon. XS Sights Tritium Big Dot
A Doe walks out of the woods today and says, that is the last time I'm going to do that for Two Bucks.

You'll like it... Mine is a 9mm and no safety version. It's very comfortable to shoot, accurate and reliable.

bea - I expect I'll like it based on all the comments here on the 'fire. The size appeals to me. As much as I like my larger pistols there are times I need something less conspicuous to carry.

Kenneth, $325 shipped. I've done some looking for a while now and that seems like a pretty good price. Local prices here in a small market are quite high.

heck of a gun for 325, I imagine another 40 if FFL fees?
I shot the shield last weekend, like it alot, likely going to grab one myself but last night handled a XD, trigger pull on the first shot of the XD seemed light years ahead of the shield,
which is funny because last weekend shooting a XD-S I thought that trigger pull felt like pudding.
Maybe it's me.
You will enjoy your Shield.

Older Shields had triggers that were hit or miss, the newer ones are much much better.
Or pay the small cash for the Apex Tactical dcaek kit, which I have in all of my M&P's.

My shield quickly became a constant companion. 9 with the safety, by choice.

I have been carrying my 9mm shield daily since 2013. I put the XS big dot sights on it, the apex carry trigger kit and Talon rubber stick-on grip panels. Like the Gentleman above stated, carries like a pocket pistol and shoots like a full size gun. I love mine.

I have a N82 professional IWB holster for my shield. Most comfortable IWB holster I have ever worn.

MallardAddict, does yours have the thumb safety? I'm interested in a Remora or similar sticky holster but not sure it's the best for a striker system without a manual safety. Your thoughts?
