For a hunters' dog, Ovis might be a good choice.

Ojo, it has a solid sound about it. Quick, sharp, and direct. Though it has many meanings, this one might suit a dog named Ojo:
Spanish masculine noun: Ojo
2: judgment, sharpness
tener buen ojo para
meaning to be a good judge of, to have a good eye for.
Excellent qualities in a dog for a variety of reasons.
