Because after all these years, "experts" have only recently made the remarkable discovery that 9mm is much better than 40 S&W.

I didn't. Had a pre war luger for about a month and sold it to a friend. I don't plan of getting another 9mm.

9mm is easier for the wife and kids to use than a 40 or 45. Plus the 9 is an uber Griz round if you ever plan on stalking one of the horrible bruins.

That tarp was for the body, catching brass was a side benefit.

I wanted a small yet reasonably powerful piece and found the Kahr CW9 to be the answer. It is the only 9 I own.

Cheap, easy, comes in svelte packages, and gets the job done, unlike some people I know.

I've owned a bunch of 9mm Semiauto's over the years. Like others said, cheap to reload for & a pleasure to plink with. My favorite will always be the Glock 19.

That being said, I don't carry my GLOCK 19 anymore for self defense or hunting anymore.
Once I bought my Glock 32 in .357 sig caliber about 15 years ago, my Glock 19 got moved down to plinking status.

It's the same size as Glock 19, but carries 13 rounds of .357 sig ammo, vs 15 rounds of 9mm. I just personally prefere the .357 sig. I've killed a lot of feral hogs at the Ranch over the years with it, and I've yet to catch a bullet that went through a hog. wink

9mm is a great balance of firepower, shootability, killing power.

And look at some of the cool pistols along the way, Luger, Walther P-38, HK P7, Hi-Power, just to name a few.

And hell, it's an old survivor, older than the 45ACP. It continues to improve and adapt.

Accurate, controllable, great bullets and fast loads these days, lots of rounds in the mag, cheap practice ammo.

Call me retarded (it's ok! Many here do) but I've also become a fan of the .38 Super.
